So here we are July 3, 2026. The United States of America is about to turn 250. My bf and I visited the George Bush Presidential Center earlier. Tickets free (normally about $30 a pop), crowds a plenty.

Earlier in the week we both patched up part of the backyard porch from where a skunk had to be removed. I bought 7 1 x 6 x 10′ wood planks and 73 deck screws from Lowe’s online for about $140 including shipping and delivered directly to the house. The deck does need to be fully gutted out and replaced but that’s something I think can be postponed until 2027/2028. At least now we don’t have to worry about falling through the beams.

I tried to get a replacement propane tank through a company that won’t go named, they sent a worker over at 6:40AM without even giving me a time window the day before. When I asked about rescheduling they said they’d send someone over next week.
My net worth pretty much stayed flat month-over-month. Why???? Well I got a new driveway installed. The other one AI suggested was between 20 and 30 years old. It was $10,600 total which included a small patch of area that was just dirt in front of the house. I’m happy with the outcome and was able to pay for it 100% with my cash. Along with making the house feel more upscale I view it is an investment into my home’s future value. It wasn’t a matter of if it needed replacement but when.

Since before last month’s New York trip I was trying to get rid of my old 2020 27″ LG monitor. My mom didn’t sound enthused about it. Plus the cost to ship a $100 monitor honestly wasn’t worth it. I didn’t get an exact price but it probably would be close to $100 once you add all the packing materials. So Marketplace to the rescue. Got 0 traction for a week then out of the blue had someone reach out to me who offered $20 less than ask which I happiy accepted. My next step was donating it to an electronics recycling place. Paid around $400 so I guess it was a good investment.

Last month I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. 52 sleep disturbances per hour so if I were to sleep 8 hours straight I’d have over 400 instances where my body was fighting for oxygen. Levels while I was doing my sleep study got as low as 82%.
Per AI: Low blood oxygen during sleep (nocturnal hypoxemia) occurs when oxygen saturation drops below normal levels (95%-100%). Readings consistently below 88%-90% are clinically abnormal and demand medical attention Explains why I was so drowsy all the time. After work the first thing I felt like doing was rolling over and going to bed. I would fall asleep during movies regularly. Give me alcohol and before you know it I’d be on the couch snoring away. I’m still getting used to the equipment but overall I feel like there are some improvements. Between the kit and cleaning material it’s about $1200.
I’ve been spluring on some seemingly random home upgrades – got rid of the kitchen mat from the previous owner, bought a hose rack for the backyard, a bug zapper for the patio, an oscillating sprinkler, some small plants for the front yard, a battery power bank to plug in my patio lights / cover me for the random times the electricity shuts off, a wood saw to cut wood for home repair projects. Things that I have an actual use for.
As far as upcoming home projects (in no particular order):
1 – Getting the leaking hot water heater replaced and system brought up to code
2 – Redoing insulation in attic
3 – Reglazing bathroom tub / getting glazing redone
4 – Touching up some of the interior paint
5 – Replacing 2014 washer and dryer
6 – Save for 2028 replacement porch

A couple of highlights..
-Net worth down -1.6% Month-Over-Month- Not bad considering a once in 2 decade event of getting the new driveway installed that eventually will help improve home value and improves quality of life
-YoY net worth is up +26% / +$123k outside of the home, including the home +28% / +$124k
-There’s more to life than just watching a number go up and not taking time out to enjoy it. Expecting to go back to growing my net worth for the rest of the year.
Happy 4th stay safe, keep stacking benjamins !
